Tournament Formats
Disney Lorcana events use different formats depending on the level of competition.
Constructed — bring your own deck
Core ConstructedStandard
60+ card deck, max 2 ink colours, max 4 copies of any card. Only sets within the current rotation are legal. Used at Set Championships, CCQs, and most competitive events.
Infinity ConstructedEternal
Same 60+ card / 2-ink / 4-copy rules as Core, but cards from every set ever printed are legal. Uses its own separate banned list.
Limited — build your deck on the spot
Sealed
Each player opens 6 booster packs and builds a 40+ card deck on the spot. No ink or copy-count restrictions. Great for newcomers.
Draft
Players sit in pods of 6–8. Each opens a pack, picks 1 card, then passes the rest. Repeat until all 4 packs are drafted. Build a 40+ card deck from your picks.
Pack Rush
Open 2 packs, shuffle all cards together (24-card deck). The marketing cards become your starting 2 ink. First to 15 lore wins. If your deck runs out, shuffle your discard and keep going.
Prerelease
A casual Sealed event held at a new set's launch. You purchase a prerelease box containing 6 booster packs, a random promo card (1 of 6), a random postcard (1 of 3), 4 dice, a deck box, and a rules sheet. Build a 40+ card deck from your packs and play — no competitive pressure, perfect for getting your hands on new cards first.
